This weekend the Executive Team donned their new Green Uniforms and with the help from Winchester Student Union's very own 'Freshers Crew', took to moving in Freshers into their new halls of residence.
Stationed at:
Burma Road
West Downs
Queens Road
The team breezed through the long hours exuding constant enthusiasm and words of encouragement to nervous freshers. Our Welfare Officer, Katy Loveless was on hand with a supply of tea, coffee and biscuits to reassure home sick new students and help ease those who found the process of moving away from home distressing.
Having a large team of volunteers allowed for extra hands to move boxes of belongings into halls. This was undertaken whilst informing Winchesters newest arrivals of how the Student Union will be there to support and enhance their student experience throughout their time at university.
The presence of our SAB officers, including our Student Union President Sophie Farmer, allowed the team to be tightly run and well organised. Providing new students with a welcome that will make The University of Winchester feel like a home away from home.
