Welcome Freshers!
A manic but successful first week where the SU really showed what it was capable of. Our incredible venue played host to our Freshers events which sold out within just a few hours. Thank you to all the students who turned up as early as 7.50 to queue for tickets and for those who were unlucky, get down to the Box Office early this week to avoid disappointment!
Fresher Crew decked in their orange t-shirts were a constant source of enthusiasm this week, helping those early risers at the box office stay awake and lost freshers find the enrolment queue.
Students would have also seen the Executive team GOATING (Go Out And Talking) to ensure students were adjusting into university life. Making sure they were aware of the events going on and doing their best to solve any issues regarding settling in to their halls and other personal problems.
Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any issues or are feeling overwhelmed with the new experiences university life brings.
Battle Of The Brands kicked off our evening events on Monday night, showcasing the best of the music genres from Bop and Flirt to really give our new students a taste of what is to come this year!
Our first Bop and Silent Disco of the year were a hit, as was Freshers Flirt which saw DUKE and the LUMINITES perform incredible sets in The Vault.
We also had a great turn out to our day time events such as the mature wine tasting session and the haunted tour walk which were greatly received. Interest in sports taster sessions such as Yoga and Zumba was phenomenal proving a great event for housemates to go as a group and try something different.
