Early on Friday 31st of January 11 representatives of The University of Winchester Athletics team travelled up to Stirling in Scotland for the BUCS -British University Championships.
The Cross Country Championships took place on Saturday 1st of February despite the adverse weather conditions, with 4 boys and 6 girls from Winchester battling not only against snow but also against 578 girls and 846 boys.
47 universities managed to qualify for the woman's race of 6.4k and overall Winchester Girls came 45th with Bekah Warren completing a time of 32:44 putting her as The University of Winchester Athletics Team's top female runner.
77 universities qualified for the boys race of 7.9k and competitors from Winchester ranked 76 with Kurt Money completing in a time of 36.30 awarding him the title of The University of Winchester Athletics Team's top male runner.
To celebrate, all students were invited to The University of Stirling's SU on Saturday night before travelling the nine hours back home to Winchester!
